Ruby Southerland Lakey

Ruby Rich Southerland Lakey , 88, of Collinwood, TN passed away November 5, 2013 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, AL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Ed Lakey, her first husband, Olen Eugene "Gene" Southerland, her father, Willie Cile Rich, her mother, Norma Jean Whitten Rich, one brother, Roy Rich, and one sister, Pearl Rich.

She is survived by one daughter, Wanda Southerland Butler (Kenneth) of Lawrenceburg, TN, one granddaughter, Shannon Butler Cole (Randy) of Lawrenceburg,TN, one grandson, Kendal Butler of Paris, KY, two great-grandsons, Cile Counce of Lawrenceburg, TN and Clint Gobbell of Pulaski, TN. She is also survived by her brother, Ray Rich (Moe) of Collinwood, TN, beloved sister-in-law, Marie Southerland of Collinwood, TN and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lakey retired as a seamstress from Clifton Manufacturing in Clifton, TN. She worked as an airplane manufacturer during World War II. She was a member of McGlamery Church.

Services will be held Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 11:00 am with Brother John Banks and family members presiding at Shackelford Funeral Home in Collinwood, TN with burial to follow in the adjacent Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Thursday, November 7, 2013 from 9 am to service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Cile Counce, Clint Gobbell, John Rich, Steve Newell, Paul Hammock, and Corey Stooksberry.
