Russell Coln was born June 7, 1940 in Acton, TN, the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Pauline Young Coln. He graduated from Ramer High School. He was a member of the Gravel Hill Baptist Church. Russell started his railroad career in August of 1965 and he retired as a Railroad Engineer in October of 2000. He was united in marriage to Maida Sue Kennedy on December 18, 2006.
Mr. Coln departed this life on March 12, 2019 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 78 Years, 9 Months, 5 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Coln; children: Penny Robbins and husband Danny, Tammy Huggins and husband Craig, Tina Lyles and husband Tim, Tracy Stewart and husband Todd, John R. Gibson and wife Becky, David W. Gibson and wife Heather; daughter-in-law, Melody Gibson; siblings: Donald Coln and wife Gloria, Dorine Boggan and husband Jim, Polly Richard and husband Bob, Jeff Coln and wife Tena; thirteen grandchildren: Casey Pickle and husband Jonathan, Jessica Woolsey and husband Brent, Tyler Huggins and wife Jenee, Austin Huggins, Cory Stewart, Cody Stewart and wife Kristina, Caleb Stewart, Helen Gibson, John Gibson, Garrett Gibson, Ivey Hardison and husband Cam, Cary Gibson, Kirk Gibson; seven great grandchildren: Mallory Pickle, Kael Pickle, Hunter Huggins, Colton Stewart, Cayleigh Stewart, Olivia Hardison, James William Hardison; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Coln was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Sue Smith Coln; and a son, W. M. Gibson.
