Russell Neely Ruble

Russell Neely Ruble of Clifton, TN, formerly of Memphis, TN was born August 22, 1915 in Obion, TN, but he grew up in Marvel, AR. He graduated from Memphis State University and was a retired supervisor of Chemist for Dial Soap Co. and was a veteran of the Army division, 340th Engineers during WW II. He was proud that he helped build the road to Alaska. He married Tennie Steele, daughter of the late Marvin and Fannie Steele of Clifton, TN and she preceded him in death on January 17, 2008.

Mr. Ruble was a 32 degree Mason, a member of the church of Christ and was always a happy and pleasant person to be around and had lived at the Wayne County Nursing Home for the past two years.

He is survived by nieces, Connie Floring and Miriam Spurlock both of West Memphis, AR and cousins, James Frank Bundrant and wife, Sherry of Waynesboro, TN and Jane Hardin Bren and husband, Karl of Richmond, VA.

Mr. Ruble departed this life on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Wayne Medical Center, Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 99 Years, 3 Months, 5 Days.

Services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Waynesboro, TN with Tracy Love officiating. Burial will follow in the Clifton Cemetery, Clifton, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Andy Kelly, Andrew Kelly, Allen Floring, Jeremy Bundrant, Mark Staggs and Harry Weathers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tucker Jo Staggs and Jackson Weathers.

Visiation will be Saturday, November 29, 2014 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
