Sallie White

Sallie White was born December 10, 1913 in Hardin County, the daughter of the late John and Lucy McDaniel Reeves. She was united in marriage to G. W. White, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. White lived in Adamsville, her entire life and was employed by the Garan Manufacturing Company. She also worked for the McNairy County Developmental Center and the Independent Appeal, as a writer. Mrs. White was a very intelligent person who could write and speak Latin. She was an avid historian and loved working in her yard and garden.

Mrs. White departed this life at Adamsville Healthcare on May 3, 2014 at the age of 100 years, 4 months and 23 days.

She is survived by her friend and caregiver, Jimi Blanton of Adamsville, Tennessee and step daughter, Georgia White of Corinth, Mississippi.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Herschel Griffin.
