Sennie "Sissy" Dodd departed this life on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at the age of 87 years, 7 months, and 16 days. She was born in Coffeeville, Mississippi on October 10, 1932, the daughter of the late Wade Hampton Phillips and Mattie Lee Fly Phillips. On April 23, 1950, she was united in marriage to O.D. "Buck" Dodd, who preceded her in death on May 25, 2003.
Sennie was a homemaker, and loved flowers, babies, hummingbirds, magnolias, crafts, especially crocheting. She was the founding First Lady of the Bolivar Church of God and a member of Soul's Harvest Church of God in Savannah, Tennessee.
Sennie is survived by her daughters, Judy McCoy and her husband Roy of Jackson, Tennessee, Kathy Tennyson and her husband Franklin of Fairview, Tennessee, Vicki Spears and her husband Gary of Savannah, Tennessee, and Lori Byrum and her husband Curtis of Jackson, Tennessee; a brother, James Phillips and his wife Ruth Ann of Finger, Tennessee; a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and four nieces and a nephew.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Sennie was preceded in death by a brother, John Zenis Phillips.
