Shirley J. Grantham, 77, of Hornsby, departed this life on Sunday, May 9, 2021, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson.
She was born October 26, 1943. She lived most of her life in Hornsby. She was the fourth child born to the late Charlie Ovie and Meadia Inman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Inman and Bob Inman.
On January 9, 1959, Shirley married Roy Grantham. Shirley worked several years at MasterSlack. After MasterSlack, she spent numerous years babysitting. In 1985, Shirley and Roy became part owners of Sharecroppers in Hornsby. After selling Sharecroppers, she continued to work there for many years.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed doing word searches, spending time with her dog, Crockett, watching Nascar, westerns, and cooking shows, but her favorite thing was cooking Sunday breakfast. First and foremost in her life, however, was her love for her kids and grandkids.
In addition to her sons, Darrell (Brenda) Grantham and JoeDab Grantham, she leaves behind four grandkids, Bridget Nuckolls (Russ), Dewayne Grantham (Crystal), Hank Grantham and Ragon Frey (Caleb); 8 great grandkids, Callie Nuckolls, Reid Nuckolls, Mikey Antonucci, Levi Grantham, Drake Grantham, Lani Frey, Remi Frey and Colt Frey all of Hornsby; a sister, Reba Surratt of Purdy, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
