Mrs. Shirley Marie Lindsey, age 73 of Bolivar, TN, departed this life Tuesday evening, December 10, 2019 at her home.
Shirley was born in Waynesboro, Tennessee on Tuesday, November 5, 1946 to the late James Samuel and Gusta Lamae Morgan Skelton. On December 20, 1964, she was united in marriage to Ronnie B. Lindsey, who survives. In 1967, the two made their home in Hardeman County.
Mrs. Lindsey was the Assistant Director of the First Baptist Church in Bolivar's child care program for over 30 years, and usually worked taking care of 3-year-olds. She enjoyed reading, cooking and shopping, buying things for everyone. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bolivar.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her daughter, Sheila Overton and husband Greg of Bolivar; son, Jason Lindsey and wife Tracy of Bolivar; two sisters, Ruby Bradford and husband Gerald of Town Creek, AL, and Barbara Smith and husband Glenn of Silverpoint, TN; four grandchildren, Lindsey Hood (Justin), Morgan Michalski (Ryan), Brint Lindsey and Kolby Lindsey; two great-grandchildren, Mya and Marlee, and one more on the way, Dax. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Dean Stegall (Billy) of Waynesboro.
