Henderson: Stella Yvonne Geary, age 76, the daughter of the late Bro. James Melvin and Beatrice Phelps Geary died just after mid-night Saturday morning August 4, 2018 at Jackson General Hospital. Yvonne parents were her shadow since her birth and until their passing, a very special mother and father.
She is survived by a sister, and care giver for the past ten years, Pat Geary Davidson and husband Glenn of Pinson, and two brothers; Yondell Geary and wife Stella of Beech bluff and Bro. Ronnie Geary and wife Pam of Henderson. She has six nephews and two nieces; Mark Geary, Danny Geary (Linda), Bryan Geary (Amanda), Gary Davidson (Jennifer), Kevin Davidson (Marla), Stacy Newman (B.J.) Kelly Crowe (Tim), and Ronnie Geary Jr. (Missy), twenty two great nephews and nieces and three great-great nephews and nieces. She helped babysit great nephew and niece; Hayden and Peyton, who became very special to her. She has three special care-givers who Yvonne loved very much; Judy Wells, Cindy Hamilton, and Linda Thomason who the Geary family appreciates and loves very much. The family also offers special thanks for Drs. Frix, Dr. Jennings, Dr. Lofton, and Dr. Melissa Appleton for their special care.
Yvonne was born in Louisville, KY September 30, 1941 and later moved to Jackson and the Henderson area. Yvonne, as many have known, was a special child in her families’ life and to God. She loved her church family and many friends very much. She never met a stranger and loved everyone. She was a born again Christian and a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church. She loved to sing, play the piano, play checkers and loved strawberry milkshakes. Her favorite songs were Amazing Grace and Farther Along. Her favorite Bible scripture was Psalms 23.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bro. Melvin and Beatrice Geary, a sister-in-law Patsy Geary and a great nephew Cameron Newman.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Cave Springs Baptist Church with Danny Geary and Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial will be at Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Crook Avenue from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Tuesday.
