Stella Ann Cross Sammons, of Sun City Center, Florida passed from this life at the age of 83 on July 25, 2020.
Mrs. Sammons was born October 26, 1936, in Bolivar, TN to Isaac and Bonnie Hatch Cross. A graduate of Bolivar Central High School she married and moved to Memphis prior to living in Huron, Ohio. She returned to Adamsville for some time as an adult and then retired to Sun City Center, Florida for the remainder of her life. She had the great pleasure of meeting Elvis Presley in 1968. Mrs. Sammons was a pilot, a business woman, and entrepreneur, as she owned and operayed the Country Oasis located in Selmer, TN for many years.
Survivors include her two sons, Dan Sammons of Lithia, FL and Tony Sammons of Las Vegas, NV; three sisters, Sandra Carroll (Gawaine), Teresa Smith and Linda King (John); two brothers, Bruce Cross (Betty) and Tommy Cross (Wanda); three grandchildren, Travis, Amanda and Trish Sammons and two great-grandchildren, Aylah and Asher Sammons. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Joyce Kay.
