Steve Perkins

December 17, 1949 — October 3, 2020

STEVE PERKINS

was born in Selmer, Tennessee on December 17, 1949 the son of late Peerey William and Garmelia Kelly Perkins.

On December 20, 1969 he was united in marriage to Rigena Jo Hoskins, who survives.

Steve served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was wounded in combat during the Vietnam War and received a purple heart. Steve was a member of the 700 Club and East End United Methodist Church. He loved his Church and was strong in his faith. He always said "Put God first and believe in the power of prayer". If you were sick or had any kind of problem he would say "Lets pray about it ". Steve was a kind hearted, loving person and had many many friends and some very close friends who shared the same love he had for old things. He would go down to his store and just look at everything and pray. Steve loved his family and was so happy when we were all together. His love for his family (wife, son, and granddaughter) was his greatest happiness, except for knowing God's love for him.

Steve departed this life on Saturday, October 3, 2020 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 16 days.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rigena Jo Perkins of Savannah, Tennessee; son, Steven Chad Perkins and his wife Marian of Savannah, Tennessee; granddaughter, Hannah Grace Perkins and her fiancee' Hunter Herndon; and sisters, Patricia Walker of Savannah, Tennessee and Frances Castaldo of Arlington, Tennessee.
