James Stephen "Stevie" Plunk was born February 19, 1966 in Savannah, TN the 5th child-3rd son and favorite child of Mollie L. McCasland Plunk and the late James Charlie "Bill" Plunk.

Stevie was the favorite...to his parents, 7 siblings and everyone he met. His smile was contagious, kisses were slobbery, and hugs were warm. Stevie took after his dad-blessed with the gift of gab. When he entered a room all the attention immediately focused on him. He could work a room full of people better than most politicians.

He had a great love for Sesame Street especially his beloved Cookie Monster. He had everything related to the blue monster including his favorite Halloween costume and hat. As much as he loved Cookie he equally loved Santa Claus. Growing up, Christmas presents were never placed under the tree until Christmas morning - only because Stevie would unwrap EVERY present.

Stevie was the most social and active young man. He loved his horse, Sable and went on many trail rides with family and friends. He was a former member of the Hardin County Saddle Club in Crump. He worked or mostly socialized for many years at Hardin County Skills Center in Savannah. He had his favorites at the center - Kim, Bridget and Oddie.

Stevie was always up for an adventure, journey or a car ride. He was the happiest with the windows down, diet coke in hand and the music blasting. He was loyal to his favorites - not people but his diet coke, three musketeers candy bar, and a good hamburger and fries.

Stevie departed this life on April 8, 2020 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 54 Years, 1 Month, 20 Days. He is survived by his mother, Mollie L. Plunk of Adamsville, TN; four brothers, Ronnie Plunk and wife Doris of Savannah, TN, Eddie Plunk of Adamsville, TN, Stacey Plunk of Adamsville, TN, John Plunk of Nashville, TN; special brother and best friend, Mike McGee of Memphis, TN; three sisters, Peggy Bakelman and husband Keith of Saltillo, TN, Patricia Roland and husband Dale of Saltillo, TN, Mary McCullar and husband Ashley of Bethel Springs, TN; 18 nieces and nephews; 15 great nieces and nephews; numerous aunts and uncles and so many friends.

In addition to his father, Stevie was preceded in death by a great nephew, Cory Lockard; grandparents, Aubrey and Ruby Green Plunk, Chester and Lila McConnell McCasland Hinton; uncles, Joe Don Plunk, William "Dink" Plunk, W.H. Rinks, and Wayne Hinton; aunts, Dorothy Plunk Lawson, Loubelle Matney-Boyd.

He will be remembered as the best that God could give. It is said that people are put in your life for a reason, season, or forever. Stevie was a friend on the forever aspect. Remember him with smiles, remember him with tears, but don't let the tears stay to long. Smile always like he did. He taught us all a lesson in love and patience to help us through this time. Be happy and let's have a cookie.
