SUE CONNOR
Luray, TN: Martha Sue Clifford Connor age 85 passed away June 29, 2019 at her home.
She was born October 24, 1933 in Mifflin, the daughter of the late John Thomas and Ruby Tennie Maness Clifford. She married the love of her life Robert Thomas Connor on Feb. 22, 1948. They made their home in the Glendale/Jacks Creek area.
Mrs. Connor was a very experienced seamstress. She began her sewing career at Salant & Salant in Henderson, went on to work at Scotts Hill Mfg. until it closed and then to Chester County Sportswear until it closed, she semi-retired after that working at a few various places and sewing and quilting at home.
She was an active member of the Unity Baptist Church and the Unity Quilting Group. She was also active in the Glendale Community and with the Chester County Senior Citizens.
In addition to sewing and quilting and she also enjoyed cooking and traveling.
Mrs. Connor is survived by a daughter, Martha Karon Connor Reinmann of Luray and a daughter –in –law, Nancy K. Connor; four grandchildren, Mandy Maness, Joshua Mobley (Jamie), Randy Connor and Emily Harris (Tracy); seven great grandchildren, Lauren Moody (Nick), Kaitlyn Buckley, Braden Buckley, Weston Mobley, Thomas Harris, Ely Harris, Lacy Ann Harris and a great-great granddaughter, Serenity Kesler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Thomas Connor; a son, Tommy Glen Connor; a son-in-law, Jeff Reinmann; a great granddaughter, Morgan Mobley; three brothers, Elton Clifford, Melvin Clifford and Neal Clifford and two sisters, Coleen Harris and Jane Clifford.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Unity Baptist Church with Dr. James Huggins officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Monday and beginning at 9:00 AM Tuesday at Unity Baptist Church until service time.
