Mrs. Richmond-Brown passed away Monday, February 28, 2022. Susie was born August 21, 1934 in Monteagle, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Baxter Porter Richmond and Lillie Mae Madison Richmond.
Sue was an exemplary example of a "True Southern Christian Lady". Her door was always open to anyone in need or just a friendly visit. She was a living witness for Christ and a dedicated prayer warrior. She departed this life at her home in Middleton at the age of 87.
Survivors left to cherish her memory are her dearest, Gene and Norma Smalley; her precious little Elee; a special friend, Linda Ragan; nieces and nephews; a host of friends; and her beloved companions, "Mama Dog" and "Curly", her dogs.
Preceding her in death, along with her parents, was her beloved husband, Kenneth Brown, Sr.; an infant daughter, Susie Darnell McMillen; five brothers, Alfred, Terrell, Joe Jackson, Fredrick and Joe Edward Richmond; and two sisters, Mary Louise Champion and Alice Loraine Farmer.
In her early career days, she blessed the lives of others as a skilled nurse. She later went on to work for Bell South, then to Memphis, where she was co-owner of a prominent seed company.
Sue traveled the world but, her most impressive memories came from her six trips to the Holy Lands. She was so proud when she came to Middleton in 2021 that the house had an area for her library which contained books and research of her travels as well as answers to religious questions you might have. Her big yard was perfect for her to display her gardening skills, sitting on her swing drinking coffee and enjoying God's beautiful handy work.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Richmond-Brown include Gene Smalley, Jason Childers, Cody Childers, Bobby McCommon, Tim McAlpin, Alvin Wilbanks and Floyd Smalley, Jr.
Memorials maybe sent to the American Cancer Society of Camp Ground Church Cemetery Fund.
