Terry Van Thurmond, age 62, died Friday, May 29, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN.
He was born August 14, 1957 in Chicago, IL and reared in Dyersburg, TN son of the late Leo Keith and Betty Jean Seratt Thurmond. He graduated from Dyer County High School. He worked as a welder and shipbuilder all over the United States. He was very talented and enjoyed singing, songwriting and playing his guitar. He was also a great storyteller. He was very fond of his parents and grandparents and is now enjoying a family reunion.
He is survived by two daughters, Heather Lynn Crossno and husband Scotty of Eads, TN, Amanda Renay Owens and husband Jason of Dyersburg, TN; six grandchildren Courtney Dorsey, Brandon Crossno, Colton Owens, Emily Crossno, Tyler Crossno and Callon Owens; and four great grandchildren Nolen, Caleb, Levi and Maverick Dorsey.
There are no scheduled public services.
