Mr. Williams passed from this life on Wednesday morning, May 22, 2019, at Pine Meadows Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born to the late Thomas Charles "Chess" Williams and Mary Rebecca Kennamore Williams in Tippah County, MS and lived most all of his life in Hardeman County. A 1960 graduate of Middleton High School, Thad married Shirley Ann Cossar on Friday, Feburary 12, 1965. Mrs. Williams passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 following 53 years of marriage. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Morgan; and three brothers, J. C., Thomas E., and Joseph Hines Williams.
In 1964, he joined the Tennessee National Guard and served 22 years before retiring in 1986 as a Sergeant, First Class. He worked 39 years at Western Mental Health Institute retiring as Director of Safety. He also was an EMT with the Hardeman County Ambulance Authority for many years and was instrumental in founding the Hardeman County Rescue Squad. In his leisure time, Thad enjoyed researching genealogies, photographing cemeteries, weddings, ball-teams and other subjects. He was an avid hobbyist when it came to electronics and he collected the newest "gadgets" available.
He is survived by his sister, Charldean Trout of Bolivar; and many nieces and nephews.
