Theresa Twilla, 65, of Pocahontas, departed this life Saturday, March 12, 2022, at her home.
The widow of Bill Twilla, Jr., who died on March 7, 2021, after just over 20 years of marriage, she retired as a beautician. She was born Tuesday, July 3, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late Billy Joe Rush and Shirley Hail Rush and lived in Memphis prior to moving to Hardeman County 28 years ago. An avid artist and painter, she enjoyed animals and horses and any kind of art, but especially loved being around her grandchildren. Mrs. Twilla was a Southern Baptist in belief.
Survivors include a daughter, Grace Austin of Pocahontas; a son, Josh Holliman (Melissa) of Bells; a brother, Billy Joe Rush of Arlington; three sisters, Janice Nicklos (Joe), Barbara Ann Billingsly (Ronnie) and Tammy Murphy, all of Ramer; 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gwyndolyn Rush and a baby girl, Stephanie Rush. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to the Hardeman County Animal Shelter.
