Thomas "Tom" Edward Bivens

Thomas "Tom" Edward Bivens departed this life on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at the age of 76 years, 8 months, and 28 days. He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on January 2, 1944, the son of the late Rural Doarn and Rubie Jewel Powell Bivens.

Tom had lived in Hardin County for most of his life and served his country in the United States Army. He was the owner and operator of a highway escort service transporting mobile homes. Tom enjoyed gardening, fishing, and messing around with old cars. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Tom is survived by his sisters, Mary Jo Hughes of Milledgeville, Tennessee and Carolyn Faye Doster of Sardis, Tennessee; brother, Gerald Dean Bivens and his wife Mildred of Sardis, Tennessee; and a special friend, Betty Oakley.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Davis Bivens who preceded him in death on May 12, 2014; brothers, Bobby Gean Bivens and Jimmy Randolf Bivens; and sisters, Peggy Ann Bivens, Maxine Dickson, Nancy Kay Martin, and Sherry Lee Holland.
