Mark Peter
Timothy Mark Peter, age 59, died Thursday evening, September 2, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born in Goodland, KS on December 20, 1961, son of the late Larry Peter and Bernice Cook Peter. He grew up in Hutchinson, KS but then moved to Topeka where he graduated from Topeka High School. He then attended Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, MN. He returned to Hutchinson and served as a Youth Leader for thirteen years at Apostolic Faith Tabernacle. He married Lisa Anne Kelley on July 23, 1983. While in Kansas he also worked as a Correctional Officer. He and Lisa moved to Henderson, TN in 1998 and he began working for the Chester County Sheriff's Department. Shortly after he began working with the Madison County Sheriff's Department and had worked there for the last 21 years.
He enjoyed woodworking and lawn care and had even started his own lawn care business, Magnificent Lawn Care. He also owned and operated M & L Trash Service.
He was a devoted Christian and had conducted online Home Mission Services for that last 8 years. He was a loving son, husband and father and worked hard to support his family. He loved his children and was a very proud grandpa of six.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lisa of Henderson; his mother Bernice Peter of Finger; three daughters Marisa Swartzentruber (Jake) and Melissa Peter both of Hutchinson, KS, Melanie Nollen (Jeremy) of Henderson; six grandchildren Israel, Judah and Gracelynn Swartzentruber, Jeremiah, Raelyn and Emma Lee Nollen; a brother James Alan Peter (Kathryn) of Witchita, KS; and a sister Johanna Jess (Neil) of Smyrna, TN.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson - Crook Avenue Chapel with Pastor Michael Rickenbacker officiating. Burial will follow at Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue Chapel on Tuesday, Sept. 7 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
