TOM DUKE
Saltillo, TN: Thomas Albert Duke age 89 passed away August 25, 2020 at his home.
He was born July 5, 1931 in the Cotton Grove Community of Madison County, the son of the late James Bond and Josephine Donnell Duke. He grew up in Jackson, TN. He joined the US Air Force and served four years stationed in Naknek, Alaska. He was a member of the Cotton Grove Baptist Church.
He was a train conductor for Conrail, New York Central and then Amtrak for thirty years. He was also a small engine pilot, and had been a limousine driver for the General of the Pentagon after his retirement he moved to Saltillo, TN where he had lived for the past thirty years. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and cutting the grass. He was a Christian.
He was preceded in death by his son Timothy Duke; a brother, James Wendell Duke and two sisters, Geraldine Mays and Martha Lynn Duke.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, August 27th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Randy Mead officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Church Cemetery in Jackson.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday service time.
