TRENT RHODES
Henderson, TN: Trent Smith Rhodes age 65 passed away Tuesday morning January 28, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born September 1, 1954 in Jackson, TN, the son of Lois Nelia Smith Rhodes and the late Theo Norman Rhodes. He grew up in Chester County and graduated from Chester County High School in 1972. After graduation he began working for Sonoco in Henderson for 15 years and worked for Maytag in Jackson for about 5 years and later worked for Lowes as a tool specialist for a number of years before retiring due to health reasons. He especially enjoyed the interaction with customers.
He loved racing especially NASCAR and drag racing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to see his grandson Joey skeet shoot. He coached his kid’s softball and baseball teams, always insisting they give 110 %.
He was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ.
Mr. Rhodes is survived by his mother, Lois Nelia Smith Rhodes of Henderson; a son, Norman Trent Rhodes (Kasey) of Humboldt and a daughter, Kelly Rhodes Cooper of Henderson; 2 grandchildren, Joey Russell and Kameron Cooper and one on the way, Nash Rhodes and a great grandchild, Easton Russell and a sister, Teresa Bain (Mike) of Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his father, Theo Norman Rhodes.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 1st at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Billy Smith and Ben Flatt officiating. Burial will follow at Henderson City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday.
