Troy Edward Suggs

Troy Edward Suggs was born December 29, 1927 in McNairy County , TN the son of the late Cecil Arlin and Lessie Mae Gurley Suggs.

He was united in marriage to Dorothy Hill on April 5, 1947.

Mr. Suggs was a heavy equipment operator for State of Tennessee Department of Transportation for 37 years. He was a charter member of the Unity Baptist Church in Ramer, Tennessee and served as deacon. He was a faithful servant ministering to the sick, shut-ins and new people in the community.

A meticulous lawn keeper who mowed on a daily basis! He watered his plants every morning, leaves rarely had a chance to fall to the ground before being swept away, and he enjoyed tending his vegetable garden. His hobbies were yard work and gardening, and he took great pride in both. He also took great pride and pleasure in aggravating his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Suggs was a Christian man who loved his wife, children and grandchildren dearly. His life was a true example: on how to live for the Lord, and how to love and care for your family.

Mr. Suggs departed this life on December 27, 2019 in Ramer, Tennessee at the age of 91 Years, 11 Months, 28 Days. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Dorothy Suggs of Ramer, TN; two daughters, Janice Lawson, Donna Willis and husband Ernie; a sister, Joyce (Suggs) Wren; four grandchildren, Chris Lawson and wife Kandi, Brandon Lawson and wife Susan, Alison (Willis) McCaig and husband Ryan, Matt Willis and wife Summer; seven great grandchildren, John Miller Lawson, Jack Lawson, Hudson Lawson, Miller Willis, Ashton Lawson, Maddox McCaig, Mitchell Willis; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Suggs was preceded in death by son-in-law, David Lawson; great grandson, Troy William Lawson; three brothers, Guy Suggs, Benjamine Clyde Suggs, James Enis Suggs; a sister, Lucille (Suggs) Jones.
