Mrs. Ursal Maness, age 88, passed away October 18, 2021 at her home.
She was born in Pinson, TN November 7, 1932 daughter of the late Horace Eugene and Ola Irene Lester Smith. She grew up in Pinson and graduated from Pinson High School. She then attended West Tennessee Business College in Jackson. She worked as a bookkeeper for West Main Motors in Jackson her entire working career retiring in 1991.
She was a very devoted witness for her church, teaching the Bible, serving meals, and volunteering in Ministry projects.
She was an excellent cook and was noted for her apple cake and chess pie. She enjoyed flower gardening, yard work, and she kept her yard pristine.
Family was very important to her and she especially loved her grandchildren and spending time with them.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia Grice (Geoffrey) of Medon, TN and Deborah Perry (Richard) of Jackson, TN; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Melford Lester and Hugh Smith; and a sister, Eugenia Wilson.
There will be no services.
