Velma Lurlean Lee Risner Fairris

Velma Lurlean Lee Risner Fairris of Waynesboro, TN, was born October 28, 1918 in Wayne Co., TN, the daughter of the late Henry and Bethel Hill Lee. She was united in marriage to on Freddie Hobert Risner and he preceded her on July 14, 1962. She later married Everett Edward (Ed) Fairris and he preceded her on November 8, 1998.

Mrs. Fairris was a retired nurse, a member of the American Legion and the Republican Ladies and was of the Baptist faith.

She departed this life on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center, Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 96 Years, 7 Months, 6 Days.

She is survived by daughters, June Risner Warren, Gail Risner Berry and Fonda Risner Corn and husband, Sonny all of Waynesboro, TN and Patricia Risner Beckham and husband, John of Tullahoma, TN; a stepson, Tom Fairris of Atlanta, GA; 8 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren, 6 Great-Great- Grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Fairris was preceded in death by sons, Morris and Fred Risner; a grandchild, Barta Berry Kelley; a brother, Lawrence Lee and sisters, Rubye Pharis, Oneida Martin and Lillian Linville.

Services will be Friday, June 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Leo Doyle officiating. Burial will follow in McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Gil Corn, Lynn Warren, Bronson Berry, John F. Beckham, Jeff Staggs and Danny Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Doyle Fay Risner, Willie Ray Risner, John Owen Keeton and Lonnie Biffle Gallaher.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Friday, June 5, 2015 from 8 am to service time at the funeral homel.
