Vera Johns

Vera Johns, 81, of Toone, departed this life Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Pine Meadow Healthcare Center in Bolivar.

She was born in Hardeman County on August 25, 1937, daughter of the late Roy Lee and Bertrice Staggs Keistler. On August 25, 1956, she was united in marriage to Jeffie Leon Johns, who preceded her in death on November 18, 1967.

She worked for Anderson Grocery for over 40 years, her only job other than babysitting. She was known for having a passion for both. She was described by her family as enjoying 'piddlin' and sewing a little and watching and tending to her hummingbirds and flowers. Mrs. Johns was a Baptist in faith.

She is survived by two sons, Joe Lee Johns (Margaret) and George Raymond Johns, all of Toone; a brother, Roy Edward Keistler and a nephew, Eddie Keistler, both of Medon; five grandchildren, Jeff Johns, Sara Martin (Cameron) Stephanie Norris (Brandon), Courtney Barham (Brandon) and Samantha Brooks (Christian); 3 great grandchildren, Nora Grace, Greyson Isaiah and Braedyn Elizabeth; and a host of family and friends whom she loved dearly.
