Mrs. Flanders passed away on Friday morning, July 24, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis.
Born in Hornsby, TN, December 22, 1942 to Carl and Florence Hooper Sanders, she was a graduate of Bolivar Central High School. She worked for Coca-Cola for 10 years and the Hardeman County Sheriff's Department as Jail Administrator for 13 years. Mrs. Flanders was a member of Abundant Life and loved reading, crafting, canning, cooking, gardening, flowers and trips to the beach.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Maria Reed (Mark) of Stanton, KY; Regina Noe of Bolivar; 3 sons, Jimmy Brown (Annie) of Henderson, TN, Robby Flanders of Central City, KY and Brett Flanders of Los Angeles, CA; a sister, Mildred Goodrum of Bolivar; 18 grandchildren, Erica Cecil, Deedra Mathews, Kristin Gintzer, Kyle Brown, Zachary Brown, Mark Halvorson, Jamie Brown, Tabitha Arnold, Charity Howell, Rachel Jeter, Hannah Swift, Alan Lyle, Lydia Crouch, Matthew Reed, Morgan Reed, Nicholas Flanders, Peyton Flanders and Jaxon Flanders; 32 great grandchildren and one on the way; and her best friend, Joyce Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Tempie Cox, Sadie Fowler, Katherine Sanders, Ethel Lou Sanders, and Carlene Williamson.
The family requests memorials be sent to Hardeman County Adoptable Animals.
Face masks for visitation and service are REQUESTED by the family, but are NOT REQUIRED.
When attending visitation or services for Mrs. Flanders, please consider the following guidelines:
* Maintain 6 feet between yourself and the next closest person;
* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;
* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;
* Wash your hands often;
* Avoid touching your face; and
* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.
