Vernon Ray Frazier

Vernon Ray Frazier

was born in Wayne County, Tennessee on July 3, 1934 the son of the late Jay V. and Edna Perry Frazier.

Vernon served his country in the United States Army. He worked for many years for Sanders Lumber Company in South Bend, Indiana and also did some farming. Vernon liked to hunt when he was younger and loved nature, animals, and living on a farm. He was a kind, meek, and humble person who enjoyed visiting with friends. Vernon loved old country music, especially Johnny Cash and Hank Snow, and had a huge collection of country music records. Vernon was of the Methodist faith.

He departed this life on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 87 years, 5 months, and 25 days.

Vernon is survived by his two sons, Rick Neil Frazier of Collinwood, Tennessee and David Ray Frazier of Clifton, Tennessee; granddaughter, Kellie Brewer; great grandchildren, Chloey Daniel, Emerson Brewer, and Maverick Brewer; brothers, Jerry Lewis Frazier and Donnie M. Frazier, both of Savannah, Tennessee; and sisters, Essie Fay Frazier Belcher and Barbara Dell Futrell, both of Indiana.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Beatrice Nix, Emma Lou Myrkle, and Evon Hanson, and four brothers, James (Curly) Frazier, Lester Dee Frazier, J. W. Frazier, and Ralph Frazier.
