VIRGIL WILKINS Henderson, TN: Virgil Ray Wilkins age 85 passed away August 24, 2020 at his home. He was born July 8, 1935 in Decatur County, and reared in Henderson County, near Scotts Hill, the son of the late Roby Lee and Roma Estelle Teague Wilkins. He graduated from Scotts Hill High School in 1954. He entered the U.S. Army in 1958 and served for a short period of time. He married Marlene ‘Marty’ Moore in 1959. They made their home in Memphis where he worked for Ford Motor Company in shipping and receiving of automotive parts. He retired from Ford in 1993. They moved to Henderson in 2000. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson. Mr. Wilkins is survived by his wife, Marlene Virginia Moore Wilkins of Henderson; two sons, Jeffrey Wilkins (Dana) of Scotts Hill and Gregory Wilkins of Memphis; two grandchildren, Jacob Wilkins (Jennie) and Marley Wilkins and a sister, Juanita Moore of Scotts Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James Floyd Wilkins and a sister, Mable Scott. Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors Crook Avenue with Bro.
