GAYNELL DEES
Medon, TN: Vivian Gaynell Dees age 87 passed away February 12, 2020 at Forest Cove Nursing Home in Jackson.
She was born September 14, 1932 in the Deanburg community of Chester County, daughter of the late David Alonzo and Lydia Hopper Cleek. She grew up and attended school in Deanburg. She married Thomas A. Dees in 1948. They made their home in Deanburg. Mr. Dees died in August of 1990.
Mrs. Dees was a seamstress and had worked at Oakley Fashions in Jackson, and then for MKD Mfg. at Enville.
She loved flower and vegetable gardening, cooking and canning, quilting and animals. She was a member of the the Family and Community Education Club in Deanburg and the Deanburg Community Club.
She was a lifetime member of the Pleasant Springs Methodist Church.
Mrs. Dees is survived by a son, Thomas Dees (Sandra Kay) of Tresevant, TN and a daughter, Norma Tulley (Bobby) of Medon, TN; three grandchildren, David Dees (Katie), Cory Tulley (Gina) and Chuck McLemore and four great grandchildren, Abbie Tulley, Lola Tulley, Colt Dees and Lily Kate Dees and two brothers, Jerry Cleek (Freda Ann) of Middleton and Gene Cleek of Deanburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas A. Dees and a sister, Doris Cleek.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, February 16th at Pleasant Springs Methodist Church with Mary Beth Eberle officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Pleasant Springs Methodist Church 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday.
In lieu of flowers donations me be made to the Pleasant Springs Methodist Church.
