Wanda Benson departed this life on Friday, October 25, 2019, at the age of 81 years, 2 months, and 9 days. She was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on August 16, 1938, the daughter of the late James Grady and Helen Jean Price Tanner. On January 20, 1956, she was united in marriage to D.C. "Dan" Benson, who preceded her in death on April 30, 2006.
Wanda was the owner and operator of Cherry's Truck Stop in Savannah, Tennessee. She had previously worked for Kellogg's in Memphis, Tennessee and Dan and Sue's Cafe. Wanda attended Love and Truth Church in Savannah, Tennessee.
She is survived by her son, Danny Benson and his wife Terry; grandson, Derick Clay Benson and his wife Melissa; sister, Dorothy Tanner; special niece, Cathy Crotts and her husband Chris; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Wanda was preceded in death by a grandchild, Danny Shane Benson; great grandchild, Daniel Chase Benson; and sisters, Marjorie Tanner, Lynda Murchison, and Janice "Mickey" Sanford.
