Wanda Elizabeth Brooks Edwards, 70, of Bolivar, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 at her home.
She was born Monday, September 19, 1949 in Madison County, daughter of the late George Ray Brooks and Margaret Byrum Yarbro. She had formerly worked for Devilbiss in Jackson and had lived in Texas, Illinois and Kentucky, but had made Hardeman County her home for the past 25 years. A lover of life, she enjoyed flowers, catfishing, going to church, spending time in the mountains and going on camping trips, but held her greatest love for her friends and especially her family, including her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Andy Goodman (Mona) of Medon; two brothers, Mike Byrum (Deborah) of Jackson and Billy Byrum (Barbara) of Bolivar; 8 grandchildren, Clay Goodman (Brooke), Jesse Armstrong, Timmy Goodman, A.J. Goodman (Melinda), Nick Jackson (Heather), Shane Jackson, Joshua and James Jay; and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, George Ray Brooks, a stepfather, C.H. * Maintain 6 feet between yourself and the next closest person;
* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;
* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;
* Wash your hands often;
* Avoid touching your face; and
* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.
