Wanda G. Mayfield

May 11, 1953 — May 13, 2020

Mrs. Mayfield, age 67, of Hornsby, passed from this life on Wednesday afternoon, May 13, 2020, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Wanda was a native and life-long resident of Hardeman County. Born on Monday, May 11, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Riley and Geneva May Kirk and a 1971 graduate of Bolivar Central High School.

She was united in marriage to Ronald Mayfield on Friday, August 20, 1993. Mrs. Mayfield worked as a CNA at nursing homes in Bolivar, Henderson and Selmer and she also was a caregiver to the elderly of the area. She worshiped with the Full Gospel Fellowship Church in Bethel Springs.

In her leisure time, Wanda enjoyed flowers, singing and enjoying the music of Loretta Lynn, her favorite singer. She and Ronald visited "Miss" Lynn's home in Hurricane Mills, TN on several occasions over the years. She loved her pet dog, "Little Man", who was always at her side, but, above all, she loved and appreciated time spent with her family - especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of over 26 years, she leaves two daughters, Angie Ellis (Craig) of Bethel Springs and Rhonda Boyd (Ryan) of Bolivar; four sons, John Sisk (Wendy), Ronnie Mayfield, Jr. and Adrian Mayfield (Madison Spaulding), all of Bolivar, and Kurt Mayfield (Brandy Tranum) of Middleton; her brother, Roger Kirk (Judy) of Ramer; step-mother, Carolyn Kirk of Pocahontas; eleven grandchildren, Riley Ellis, Austin Jennings, Brianna and Ally Smith, Taylor, Keaton, Kennedy and Chase Sisk, Morgan Mayfield, Caleb Tranum and Colton Mayfield; two great-grandchildren, Adalynn and Kennedy Ivory; a niece, Jourdan Hurd (Zack) of Brentwood, TN; a nephew, Jason Kirk; and a great-niece, Hallie Hurd of Brentwood.
