Wanda Ruth Moore Treece

April 7, 1942 — July 29, 2017

Wanda Ruth Moore Treece was born on April 7, 1942 in Hardin County to the late John Hundley and Mattie Jo Jerrolds Moore.

She was united in marriage to Jimmy Lafoy Treece on December 28, 1958. They made their home in Adamsville until moving to Denham Springs, LA in 1965. Wanda and Jimmy owned and operated Baton Rouge Heavy Equipment Rental Company. She worked in the school cafeteria at Live Oak Elementary School. They returned to Adamsville, Tennessee in 1977 and later opened Treece Satellite Systems in 1983.

She was strong in her Christian faith and this was evident in all she did. She was the organist at Good Hope Baptist Church for many years where she taught Sunday School with her husband.

Wanda loved her family most of all. She was known as a gracious host and her greatest joy was preparing delicious meals and opening her home to her family and friends.

Wanda departed this life in Savannah, Tennessee on July 29, 2017, at the age of 75 years, 3 months, 21 days.

She is survived by her children, Tim Treece and wife Regina of Adamsville, Tennessee, Terry Treece of Savannah, Tennessee, and Lisa Wicker and husband Alan of Adamsville, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Rogers and husband Jody of Savannah, Tennessee, Dr. Nicholas Treece of Tupelo, Mississippi, Justin Treece of Adamsville, Tennessee, Josh Treece of Nashville, Tennessee, Haley Treece of Pontotoc, Mississippi, and Jennifer Boswell and husband Luke and Hunter Wicker, both of Adamsville, Tennessee; great grandchildren, Karmin Kay Treece of Enville, Tennessee and Ivy Lea Rogers of Savannah, Tennessee; a great granddaughter, Ella Reece Rogers, due in December; and one sister, Bonnie Boyd of Savannah, Tennessee.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy, on April 8, 1996, and three brothers, David, Ray (Bud), and Rex Moore.

Love offerings can be made in her memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
