WAYNE GROW
Henderson, TN: Wayne Shelt Grow age 55, passed away March 10, 2022 at his home.
He was born August 27, 1966 in El Paso, TX, the son of Sharon Kay Shelt Merrill and the late Gary Grow.
He grew up in El Paso and was a 1987 graduate of Cantillo High School. He was a proud member of the FFA and was a cattle Judge throughout High School, after high school he moved to Alabama and worked in construction for a time during his time in Alabama, he did volunteer work and helped introduce Narcotics Anonymous in to the prison system.
He moved to Chattanooga in the mid-nineties and worked as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor for the youth, for almost fifteen years. He moved to Henderson in 2015 and worked at Kilgore as a security guard until 2021 when he began working at Lowes.
He loved fishing and kayaking and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church.
He was a very talented artist and he specialized in Native American Art. He was adopted into the Lakota Tribe in South Dakota.
Mr. Grow is survived by his mother, Sharon Kay Shelt Merrill of Henderson; one sister, Keri Baughman (Doel) of Henderson; a half-sister, Rosie Jones of Michigan and a half-brother, Jaimie Tichenor of Michigan; a niece, Brenna Baughman and a nephew, Torin Baughman.
He was preceded in death by his father, a half-sister, Debra Tichenor and a half-brother, Garold Tichenor and his step-father, Richard Arlin Merrill.
Memorial services will be 5:00 PM Friday, March 18th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 4 PM until 5PM at Crook Avenue.
