WENDELL CHRISTIAN
was born in Huntingdon, Tennessee on August 21, 1941 the son of the late Leland Leon and Dorothy Lore Wilkes Christian.
On March 22, 1963 he was united in marriage to Patricia Anne Wheeler, who preceded her husband in death on January 30, 2007.
Mr. Christian was a Park Ranger for Tennessee State Park and he retired from the National Guard. Mr. Christian started the fireworks at Pickwick State Park, did the Easter Egg Hunt and the Christmas Lights at Pickwick and he also helped with the Counce Parade. Mr. Christian was a Mason and he was a member of Pickwick Church of Christ. He loved nature, fishing, trading and collecting guns and knives, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Mr. Christian was a great historian and he always had a story to tell. He loved laughing and making people laugh.
He departed this life on September 18, 2013 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 72 years and 28 days.
Mr. Christian is survived by one son, Leland "Lee" Christian and his wife Neisys of Pickwick Dam, Tennessee
one daughter, Janet Vickery and her husband Jerry of Olive Hill, Tennessee
six grandchildren, Zachary Christian, Chase Lilly, Jacob Christian, Hunter Hopkins, Kassie Vickery and Jacqueline Vickery
one great grandchild, Weston Reynolds
one sister, Teresa Ann Davis of Huntingdon, Tennessee
one sister in law, Lunita Drinkard and her husband Jerry of Huntingdon, Tennessee
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Alan Christian.
