Mr. Tigner passed away Saturday evening, September 2, 2017 at South Breeze Assisted Living in Memphis. He was 85 years old.
A native of Hornsby, Mr. Tigner was the son of the late James Hucie (J. H.) and Altalee Starnes Tigner and moved to Memphis following graduation from Bolivar Central High School. On July 25, 1953, he was united in marriage to Gloria Lineberry. Mrs. Tigner died March 15, 1995.
Mr. Tigner was a milk delivery man for Kraft for over 35 years and after retirement, he worked in lawn care. He was a member of Cherry Road Baptist Church and enjoyed the outdoors both as a hunter and a coach for kids' ball teams.
Survivors include his daughter, Kim (Steve) Carpenter of Atoka, TN; two sons, Mark (Lavonne) Tigner of Olive Branch, MS and Mike (Belinda) Tigner of Piperton; five grandchildren, Shane Tigner, Brittany Presson, Kristina Tigner, Matthew Carpenter and Courtney Carpenter; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jackson.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Denton and Winford Tigner.
