Mr. Sims passed away Tuesday morning, May 14, 2019 at his home with his daughter, Kristi.
A native of Selmer, he moved to Memphis as a teenager and lived there most of his life except for his time in military service. Mr. Sims married Brenda Sinclair on March 2, 1985 and was preceded in death by her on June 22, 2018. He also was preceded by his parents, Frank Bruer and Ruby Yarbrough Sims; a grandson, Bo White, who passed in 2018 and a sister, Nina.
Mr. Sims was a retired Master Sergeant with the Air National Guard and served his country in the US Army with one tour of duty in Korea and two tours in Vietnam where he was in Special Forces. After his time in the military, he worked for Signal Delivery as a driver. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.
He leaves two daughters, Kristi Leigh Butler of Barlett and Tina Stinchfield of Paso Robles, CA; two sons, Stephen Craig (Tami) White of Fayetteville, TN and Eugene Sims of Senatobia, MS; two sisters, Sheree Craig of Memphis and Athedale Ezzell of Myrtle, MS; sister-in-law, Ann Robinson of Jackson; brother-in-law, George (Cheri) Sinclair; four grandchildren, Kenneth B. (Anna) Harding, Raegan Crossett, Tucker White and Wyatt Lee Stinchfield; and one great-grandchild, Averie Blayne Harding.
