Willie Faye "Granny" Sweat

Willie Faye (Granny) Sweat was born August 18, 1933 in Henderson, TN the daughter of the late Willie E. and Ruby R. Plunk Williams.

She was united in marriage to Thomas "Leonard" Sweat on October 8, 1948. Mr. Sweat preceded her in death on May 17, 2012. They were married for almost 64 years.

Mrs. Sweat was affectionately known to most everyone as "Granny." She worked for many years in Selmer School System either in the cafeteria or as a teacher's aide for the Special Education classrooms. She also worked for the Head Start program. In her younger years, she worked at Brown Shoe Factory. She loved to read, garden, sew and cook for her family.

Mrs. Sweat departed this life on June 1, 2020 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 9 Months, 14 Days. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Faye Shelby of Selmer, TN, Cookie Krecsmar and husband Skip of Blue Rock, OH; a son, William Terry Sweat and wife Phyllis of Tuscumbia, AL; a sister, Norma Jean Williams of Adamsville, TN; eight grandchildren, Melissa and husband Ron, Tony, Jeremy, Jenny, Anna, Stevie and wife Amy, Billy and wife Kari, Jessie and wife Lisa; 18 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Sweat was preceded in death by
a son, Jerry Thomas Sweat and wife Kathy; son-in-law, Dwight Shelby; a sister, Inetha Williams Boleyn; brothers, Albert Dewayne Williams, Nello Williams, Vernon Williams; triplet siblings, brothers - Lonnie, Vonnie, and sister, Bonnie Williams.
