Wilma R. Bynum

Mrs. Wilma M. Russum Bynum of Saulsbury, TN passed away November 10, 2018 at the age of 97 years at NHC Somerville. Wilma was born April 1, 1921 in Horn Lake, MS. She is the daughter of the late George Waverly (Wave) Russum and Cora Alma Beal Russum. Her mother died when she was seven years old. After her mother's death, Wave married Mary Boone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. "Bill" Bynum in October, 1980 who she married July 9, 1937. They enjoyed 43 years of marriage. In addition to Bill, she was preceded by three sons, Robert (Bobby) Bynum of Saulsbury, George Luther Bynum of Bolivar and Michael (Mike) Bynum of Saulsbury. Also preceding her was an infant daughter, Mary Louise Bynum and a granddaughter, Gina Campbell.

Wilma was a member of Saulsbury Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was retired as postmaster of the Saulsbury Post Office at Saulsbury. For many years, she and Bill were farmers in Canaan, MS and Saulsbury, TN.

She leaves her children, Cora (Gene) Campbell of Grand Junction, William L. "Billy" (Sue) Bynum of Saulsbury; daughter-in-law, Linda Bynum of Nashville, TN and Grace Bynum of Atoka, TN; grandchildren, Duane (Anita) Campbell of Sammamish, WA, Gary (Terry) Campbell of Collierville, TN, Kevin (Kelly) Bynum of Saulsbury, Michelle Bynum of Olive Branch, MS, Lee (Brenda) Bynum of Lamar, MS, Stephen (Justine) Bynum of Atoka, Tony (Randi) Bynum of Saulsbury, Brad (Alison) Bynum of Smyrna, TN, Jason (Shai) Bynum of Nashville, Michael (Candi) Bynum of Byhalia, MS and Leigh Anne (Stephen) Patterson of Saulsbury. In addition to her children, she leaves a dear, life-long friend, Cleo Leath Doyle Snellings of Saulsbury. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at NHC for the excellent care and love shown to our mother while she was living there.
