Abbie L. Nevis

Abbie L. Nevis, 76, of Toone, passed from this life Thursday, May 11, 2023, at her home.

She was born June 17, 1946, in Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Edwin Clark and  Rose Mary McClain Clark, and lived in McNairy  County prior to moving to Hardeman County 24 years ago.  She was retired from  Berry Plastics in Jackson and enjoyed working with flowers and plants, watching movies with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and going 'antiquing', but held her greatest love for her family.

Survivors include her children,  Sonja Mayer (Ted) of  Toone, Edwin Nevis of  Selmer and Jennifer Marbry (Terry) of Selmer; 11 grandchildren, Randy Grantham (Angel Thurmond), Shawna Mullen (Joey), Corey  Honey (Megan Bernard),  Toni Kelley (Nick), Brian Nevis (Megan), Matthew Honey, Cheyanne Holt (Devin), Cynthia and Hunter Nevis, Hanna and Trenton Marbry; and 13 great grandchildren, Harlie Mullen, Taylor Nevis, Hayden Byrd, Tucker Mullen, Bentley Nevis,  Shelby Nevis, Mattox Honey, Gracyn Kelley, Zayden Grantham, Maxon Holt, Tanner Nevis,  Axel Honey and Tegan Kelley.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherri Nevis in 2001 and a daughter in law, Pat Nevis.  Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org/donate).
