Albert E. Bromley

December 3, 1942 — March 4, 2025

Savannah

Albert E. Bromley was born on December 3, 1942, in Hardin County TN to Tempie Beckham Bromley and Lawrence Elmer Bromley. He was welcomed home by one older brother, James Rayburn Bromley, and two older sisters, Sara Lorene Bromley and Marie Evelyn Bromley.

All of his family with the exception of his mother was touched by God with the gift of music whether it was singing or playing an instrument. When he was just a young boy his family would travel to various churches and sing and play. God blessed him with the amazing gift of playing the piano by ear at the age of 6, and he would continue to WOW people with his beautiful music throughout his life.

He loved talking about and revisiting the many places his family had lived throughout his childhood and teenage years and reminiscing about the many wonderful memories that were made along the way along with the many friendships. Eventually his family would permanently plant their roots on Bromley Lane in Adamsville, TN where he would live for the next 60 years.

Albert attended elementary school in Morris Chapel, TN and then finished out his school days at Central High School in Savannah, TN. While he was a junior in high school he took a trip to visit his older brother whom he adored in Lawrenceburg, TN. It was on this trip that he contracted polio, but polio never slowed him down nor did he ever consider himself handicapped because of it. He was a true fighter and survivor that refused to let anything keep him down.

In May 1960 he graduated from Central High School and went to Jackson, TN to live and pursue a degree in accounting. He attended West TN Business College where he received a business degree and went on to work for Jackson Electric for several years. While living in Jackson he formed many lasting friendships and made many memories, but the most memorable by far was meeting the love of his life, Evelyn Sue McClain, at a Christmas Party.

On June 19, 1965, they married in Jackson, TN, surrounded by family and friends and honeymooned in Gatlinburg, TN, which would forever hold a special place in their hearts and be one of their favorite traveling destinations. Over the course of almost 60 years of marriage their love for each never wavered and withstood the test of time growing stronger with each passing day.

They would make their home in Jackson, TN, until moving back to Adamsville, TN, in 1968. They proceeded to build their family home on family land where they would eventually welcome their children. On November 19, 1969, they welcomed their first child, a daughter, Laura Suzanne Bromley, and on September 15, 1972, they welcomed their son, Eric Scott Bromley.

Albert was known for accomplishing many great feats during his lifetime, but I feel certain that if asked what his greatest accomplishment was he would tell you being a father and instilling solid morals and values within his children. He was a man of principle and great integrity.

His love for accounting would take him down many different jobs and paths. During their first years of marriage he worked in Corinth, MS, for a law firm, and he also worked for a car dealership in Tupelo, MS, keeping their books. Eventually he would find his calling at Parris Mfg. Company in Savannah, TN, where he worked for 25 years before going to Tri-Matic Springs and Southern Plating Co. in Savannah as well. He decided to pursue a career in education by taking night classes from Lambuth Univerisity while working full time at Parris Mfg. and taking care of his home, farm, and family. While doing his student teaching he decided that teaching just was not for him because he was not going to be contained in one place all day without the option of leaving, and he was not going to follow children to the bathroom and to lunch.

In 1975 he would begin doing income tax for the public at his home and would continue for the next 50 years. During this time he touched many lives with his wealth of knowledge about taxes and the law. Many, many people sought his business expertise and trusted him whole heartedly.

Albert enjoyed many things outside of the office life. Farming would probably rate up there with his love for accounting. He had a great love for cattle and horses and riding his John Deere tractor. Many summer days and nights were spent in the hayfield making sure he had adequate hay supply for his livestock, and many afternoons were spent riding throughout the pastures just looking at all of the things that brought him joy.

He loved taking pictures and having family and friends over to his home to enjoy slide shows of all of our many travels and memories throughout the years.

Camping and fishing were also something that he enjoyed during his younger days which would eventually lead to the purchase of a camper trailer which would be pulled across most of the United States before all was said and done. One might also find him at the Jackson drag strip with his brother when they were younger and then with his son and grandson in later years as well as at the tractor pulls across the state of TN. His love for cars would eventually lead to him buying and restoring a 1960 98 Oldsmobile which he and mother would spend countless hours talking about and enjoying watching the restoration progress.

Our daddy was not a materialistic person, but he was a man that loved pouring his time and energy into his children and grandchildren by taking many trips with them which will leave a lasting legacy filled with wonderful memories. This is how he enjoyed the latter years of his life spending time with those he loved dearly and visiting his favorite places such as Berlin, OH, Gatlinburg, TN, and even taking a cruise.

Our daddy was a man who loved and feared God, and he knew the Bible inside and out from cover to cover and could quote a verse at any given time.

Our daddy left this earthly home for the pearly gates of heaven on March 04, 2025 at the age of 82 years and 3 months surrounded by his loving family. Even though it was so very hard to let him go we know he is in a better place free of pain and sorrow. The love he gave us will never be forgotten or be in vain.

Albert E. Bromley is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Evelyn Sue Bromley of Adamsville, TN, his daughter, Suzanne Russell(Greg) of Adamsville, TN and grandchildren Ali Ann Russell Beecham(Hunter) Henderson, TN, and Garrett Ty Russell of Adamsville, TN, and his son, Eric Scott Bromley(Anna) of Adamsville, TN, and grandchildren, Caleb Bromley(Shelly) Adamsville, TN, and Hannah Claire Bromley Owen(Wesley) Muscle Shoals, AL

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Bromley, his mother Tempie Bromley, and his brother, James Rayburn Bromley.
