Alex Gonzales

Alex Gonzales departed this life on Friday, February 24, 2017, at the age of 44 years, 9 months, and 15 days. He was born in Los Angeles, California on May 9, 1972, the son of Joseph Gonzales and Annette Provencio Ponds. On November 10, 2007, he was united in marriage to Valerie Reed, who survives him.

Alex moved to Hardin County, Tennessee when he was 12 years of age. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and worked at PCA, where he was a member of the United Steel Workers Local 9923. Alex loved playing and watching sports with his son, spending time with his daughters, and playing with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed working on cars and riding dirt bikes. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, that will be missed by a host of family, friends and loved ones.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie Reed Gonzales of Adamsville, Tennessee; children, Ashley Brooke Matlock and her husband Daniel, Haley Briann Gonzales, all of Savannah, Tennessee, and Alex "Reed" Gonzales of Adamsville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jon Daniel Matlock and Connor Holt Matlock; parents, Joseph Gonzales of California and Annette Provencio Ponds and her husband, Buster of Savannah, Tennessee; sister, Gina Gonzales of Savannah, Tennessee; and grandmother, Jeanette Springman of Savannah, Tennessee.
