Alford Cornelius Strait

.Alford Cornelius Strait Alford Cornelius Strait departed this life Sunday, December 11, 2016 Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Alabama at the age of 69 Years, 7 Months, 13 Days. He was born April 28, 1947 in Wayne Co., TN, the son of Bessie Ann Keeton Strait Todd of Iron City, TN, who survives and the late Homer Cornelious Strait. In addition to his father, Mr. Strait was preceded in death by son, Gregory A Strait; brother, Charles Delbert Strait and sister, Emmanola Carr.

He was united in marriage to Donna Sue Wilson on June 20, 1971.

Mr. Strait was a retired assembly line worker with Murray Ohio Manufacturing Company. He was a minister of the Gospel for over 30 years and was a member of Cypress Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church.

Other than his mother, survivors include his wife, Donna Sue Wilson Strait,
sons, Randall, Terry and Eric Strait, brothers, Willie and Warren Strait and sister, Shelby Butler all of Iron City, TN and nieces and nephews.

Services will be Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Cypress Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church, Iron City, Tennessee, with Gene Kelley and Tim Hanback officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Tommy Craig, Tim Abernathy, Steven Balentine, Gene Abernathy, Stacey Strait, Edwin Daniel.


Visitation will be Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from 6:30 pm until service time at Cypress Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church, 5601 Pumping Station Road, Iron City, TN, 38463.
