Alfred James Thomason

Graveside services with military rites for Alfred James Thomason, age 83, of Warren, OH will be Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at 1 pm at Flatwoods Cemetery, Linden, TN with Jerry Garner officiating and Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the local arrangements. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 7, 2007 from 9 am to 12:30 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro, TN. He died in Warren OH on Friday, February 2, 2007.



Mr. Thomason, a native of Flatwoods, TN, moved from Tennessee in 1957 and retired from America Welding and Manufacturing Co. in 1991. He served in the United States Army during WW II and received the Purple Heart. Mr. Thomason was a member of VFW Post # 1090. He enjoyed bowling and had been captain of AmWeld Bowling Team, he enjoyed gardening and walking at the mall, and loved caring for his two cats.



Mr. Thomason was a son of the late Milton Harrison and Alice Ham Thomason and a brother of the late Naomi Hart and Herschel Thomason.



Survivors include his wife of almost fifty years, Betty Jean Watson Thomason of Warren, OH, one sister, Dorothy Jean Thomason of the Flatwoods community, and nieces and nephews.
