Algie Mae Bundrant
ALGIE MAE (HILL) BUNDRANT
June 7, 1919 – December 29, 2015
Algie, Mom, Grandmother (Granny), Great-Grandmother, Aunt and friend to many…..

Algie was born June 7, 1919 in Waynesboro, TN and went to be with her LORD and SAVIOR December 29, 2015 in Seattle, WA. She was the oldest child born to Charlie (deceased 1949) and Mary Hill (deceased 1971). Algie was followed by sister Greetus Hill Munn (deceased) husband Edmund (deceased) and niece Lisa (deceased).

Algie graduated from Waynesboro High School and attended a beautician school in Nashville, TN. She married Charles Lawson Bundrant of Waynesboro on November 23, 1940 (Mother often reminded all of us that they dated 7 years before getting married). Lawson worked for General Foods, of Memphis, TN from 1939 until he retired in 1970 in Evansville, Indiana. They moved from Evansville back to Waynesboro and built their retirement home on family property belonging to Algie. They called it Green Acres Farm, and Lawson wore his white shirt under his overalls on his tractor. Lawson and Algie had previously lived on the farm during the war as did their children Charles Hardin Bundrant (wife Diane) and Linda Jo (Bundrant) Nelson (husband Doug). They were the fifth generations to have lived on the farm property.

Algie, was a wife, homemaker, room mother and church worker. She worked in the nursery/children’s department of their home church in Evansville (Grace Baptist) and also in Waynesboro at Green River Baptist. That experience helped with her five grandchildren, Joe (Mary Sue), Jill (Frank), Julie (Randy), Derek (Moni) and Krissie (Kory). Those five grandchildren blessed Algie with 18 great grandchildren: Analise (Tommy), Ali (Jeremy), Lawson Joseph, Noah, Levi Charles, Samuel Lawson, Taylor, Madison, Camden, Dominic, Charlie, Julianna, Isabella, Naomi Mae, Gage Lawson, Gus, Micah and Mackenzie (two more announcements on Christmas eve and Christmas day 2015 would be great-great grandchildren and this made GRANNY SMILE BIG before she passed with family surrounding her.

Algie came to the Seattle area when Lawson went home to the LORD in April of 1993. However, she made many trips back to her home in Waynesboro to stay during the spring and summer months. Her last visit was in July, 2015, and she always loved “going home”. The first fifteen years in Washington were spent with her children Chuck (Diane) and Linda (Doug) and grandchildren. Her last 6 years have been at Crista Assisted Living on the Crista Christian School Campus of pre-school – high school. She was blessed seeing many of her greatgrandchildren on campus when they stopped by or during their basketball, soccer, track, volleyball, plays or programs. Granny always told everyone who would listen how many children, grandchildren, great grandchildren she had and what they were doing. She made many friends in her assisted living where she attended church on Sunday morning and night. She attended a Friday morning Bible study that she was always prepared for, and studied during the week.

In the words of a few of her great grandchildren, “Granny is with JESUS and Granddaddy so she is happy now”. SHE WILL BE MISSED.
