ALICE LEE GANN
Henderson, TN: Alice Lee Patterson Gann, age 80, passed away Friday morning at Wellington Manor in Jackson, TN.
She was born and reared in Chester County the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Mae Edna Meadows Patterson. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1962 and married Robert Earl Gann in 1962, they made their home in the Harmony Community.
Alice had worked at Gladys Café, Jett Hardware on Main Street and Chester Manufacturing. She worked for Quinten Newman and H&R Block during tax season and worked a few years as secretary at the University for Dr. J. Walker Whittle.
She was very active in the PTA while the children were in school. She was a member of the local Home Demonstration Club. Alice was a member of the D.A.R. and enjoyed researching genealogy and reading.
Alice was a member of Estes Church of Christ, where she had taught in the cradle roll program and served as church secretary for several years.
She and Robert hosted international exchange students, Pascal, Rene, Yan, Niki, Celine, Ann, and Roman. These students were from Belgium, France, and Germany. The Ganns continued a relationship with these students and had visited in their countries and welcomed the students back to Henderson many times
Robert preceded her in death in 2018.
She is survived by a son, Robert Tate Gann of Henderson; daughter, Myna Lee Sain of Newnan, GA; a brother, Dennis Patterson (Jewel) of Henderson; three grandchildren, Miranda Lee Winslett (RJ), Madeline Sain and Cameron Seth Gann; and two great grandchildren, Sawyer and Annabel Lee Winslett.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday June 17, 2025, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with John Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Estes Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
