Allen Lacher Jr. of Waynesboro, TN was born June 12, 1920 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late Allen and Ollie Baker Lacher. He was united in marriage to Flora Evelyn Peacock on November 28, 1945.
Mr. Lacher was a retired electrician, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee, Masonic Lodge #127, IBEW, VFW, and the American Legion. He was a United States Army veteran serving during WWII. Mr. Lacher was a former owner and operator of Wayne Motor Company, Eastside Cafe, and Amoco Service Station.
Mr. Lacher departed this life on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 91 Years, 9 Months, 22 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Flora Evelyn Peacock Lacher; a son, Richard Lacher and wife, Carolyn; a daughter, Sandra Pitts and husband, John all of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Anthony Lacher, Mark Hughes and wife Joby, Teri Lacher, Johna Pitts, Martha Pitts, Ross Pitts; great-grandchildren, Jade Griggs, Ethan Lacher, Alex Hughes, Tyler Hughes, and Stratton Weisman; a grt-grt-grandchild, Peyton Griggs; a brother, Branford Lacher and wife, Gwynn of Clifton, TN; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lacher was preceded in death by brothers, Bluford, Robert, Joe, and Carl Lacher; sisters, Grace Lacher, Lucille Mathis, and Mary Ashmore.
Services will be Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Bobby Pinckley and Lea Thornton officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing.
