Allen Richerson, age 78, of Memphis passed away Wed., April 26 at his home.
A native of Hardeman County, he was born September 1, 1938 to Alexander and Pearl Burnett Richerson, both of whom preceded him in death. He had lived in Memphis since 1958. On Feb. 29, 1959, he was united in marriage to Ann McMahan, who survives. He owned Richerson Wood Parts and retired from the woodworking business in 2002. An avid sportsman and outdoorsman, he enjoyed playing basketball, hunting, fishing, and working in his yard, but his greatest joy came from being around his family & friends, whom he dearly loved. He was active in the Shriner's, was a 32nd Degree Mason, and member of Oaklawn Baptist Church. He was affectionately known by his many friends as the "Mayor of Benjestown Road".
Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Ann Richerson; 2 daughters, Theresa Niblock (Lee) of Stockton, KS and Sheila Richerson of Bartlett; brother, Frank Richerson (Ruby) of Saltillo; sister, Myrtle Inman of Bartlett; 3 grandchildren, Mary Shirley (Andrew), Andrew & Rebekah Niblock; great grandchild,Gabriella Rose Niblock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rowe, Donald, Nolan, Raymond, Claude, John, Hugh, Billy, Dell and Wendell Richerson.
