Allene Elizabeth Sickles Forsyth was born May 19, 1929 in Winfield, KS the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Blake Sickles.
She was united in marriage to Clyde A. Forsyth on May 29, 1951. Mr. Forsyth preceded her in death on September 17, 2003, following 52 years of marriage.
Mrs. Forsyth earned a master's in education from Abilene Christian College and was a member of the Texas State Teachers Association. She served as an elementary school teacher in Abilene, Texas for 22 years before relocating to Tennessee, where she taught for 2 years in Tipton County and 2 years in Shelby County. Mrs. Forsyth was a faithful member of the churches of Christ and last attended the Bethel Springs congregation. She was a Bible school teacher for many years and enjoyed singing in a cappella choirs. Reading the Bible, studying history, and playing her piano at home were among her favorite activities.
Mrs. Forsyth departed this life on January 31, 2023 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 93 Years, 8 Months, 12 Days. She is survived by three sons: David Lee Forsyth and wife Susan of Savannah, TN, Paul Grant Forsyth and wife Pamela of Phoenix, AZ, and Mark Douglas Forsyth and wife Stephanie of Ft. Worth, TX; six grandchildren: Amanda Dale and husband Patrick of Savannah, TN, Sarah Jude and husband Adam of Centerville, TN, Stephon Forsyth of Selmer, TN, Nathan Forsyth of Phoenix, AZ, Chris Forsyth of Plano, TX, and Brad Forsyth of Carrollton, TX; eight great-grandchildren: Valerie Dawn Wilkins, Jaylynn Michelle Wilkins, Ashlin Dale, Corbin Dale, Jacob Dale, Chloe Dale, Callie Jude, and Abbie Jude; a great-great-grandchild, Rhett Dale; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Forsyth was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Collier; a brother, Blake Sickles; a nephew, Tim Collier; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
