ALLENE COLEMAN WARD

Henderson, TN: Allene Ward, age 91 passed away January 15, 2016. She was born on August 13, 1924 in Chester County to the late Hugh and Lissie Shelton Coleman. Her husband, Buford E. Ward, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Ward grew up in Montezuma community, graduated from Chester County High School in 1942, and attended Freed-Hardeman College in Henderson. Where she married Mr. Ward in 1946, they made their home in Henderson with their four children, Barbara (David) Wall of Murfreesboro, Debbie (Kirk) Bond of Jackson, Bill (Nancy) Ward of Henderson, and Thom (Kelly) Ward of Cataula, GA. Nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also survive Mrs. Ward.

Mrs. Ward was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was an active member of Henderson First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Crusaders Sunday School class, worked with the youth, served in the Shepherding program, and worked at the Gleaner’s House. Mrs. Ward also served as a volunteer with the Meals on Wheels Program in Chester County.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, January 18, 2016 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Cooper and Rev. Roger Penn officiating. Burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at First United Methodist Church beginning at 10:00 AM Monday until service time.
