Alma Lou Giles Skelton

January 30, 1926 — July 4, 2009

Alma Lou Bunch Giles Skelton of Mt. Juliet, TN (formerly of Waynesboro, TN) was born Saturday, January 30, 1926 in Wayne County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late John William (Billy) and Nannie Inman Bunch. She was united in marriage to Paul Von Giles on July 30, 1944 and he preceded her in death on November 30, 1989. She was united in marriage to Roland Cephas Skelton on November 18, 2000 and he preceded her in death on October 6, 2003.



Mrs. Skelton was a retired Genesco factory worker. She was a member of the Ray's Chapel Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee and the American Legion Auxillary.



Mrs. Skelton departed this life on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 5 Months, 4 Days.



She is survived by a daughter, Martha Morgan and her husband, Tom, of Mount Juliet, TN; four grandchildren, Heather Pruitt, Rachel Nadeau, Allen Hampton, and John Hampton; thirteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Roland (Red) Bunch of Mount Juliet, TN; two sisters, Mildred Berry and Ida Mae McWilliams both of Waynesboro, TN; several nieces and nephews.



In addition to her parents and her husbands, Mrs. Skelton was preceded in death by a daughter, Margie Seitz; a grandson, Chris Hampton; and five brothers, Barney, Carnie, Dan, Hollie Earl, and Robert Bunch.



Services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Clint Nadeau officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens at Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be on Monday, July 6, 2009 from 1 pm to 3 pm at the funeral home.
